Dr. Rose Campbell is currently a professor in
the educational leadership department. She most recently worked
as an administrator and elementary principal at Florida A&M
University- Developmental Research School in Tallahassee, Florida.
In 2003, she retired as a middle school principal from the Newark
Public School District in Newark, New Jersey. During more than
40 years in education, she has gained practical experience working
as a classroom teacher, Title I project reading teacher, a coordinator
of services for special needs students, a middle school principal,
an elementary school principal and college professor. Dr. Campbell
has also worked on special projects including research to improve
academic achievement levels of students and to provide teachers
with teaching strategies in the core academic areas.
She received her B.S. degree from Florida A&M
university in Psychology, a M.A. degree in Urban Education from
William Paterson University and an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership
from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Campbell has written various educational articles,
worked with teachers and administrators to develop special activities
for students. Her major emphasis is placed on philosophical learning
transferred into effective practical implementation processes.
Other areas included working with special education teachers focusing
on individualized instruction and laws governing special education
students such as Public Law 94-142 and 504. She has also presented
at the National Middle School Conference on Whole School Reform-Restructuring
for Achievement and other conferences not listed. One of her goals
is to help prepare teachers to become great educators.
